Editor’s Note, DCMS #169

What would you do if you had a patient with type 1 diabetes, unusual fatigue, weight gain, and an A1c 1.3% higher than her previous one? If it was weight gain and a lower A1c it might mean one thing; higher A1c and lower weight would mean something else; but what does the tiredness, weight gain and elevated A1c combined mean? Think about your answer and then check out this week’s Clinical Case Uncovered to see if you were right.

Our Homerun Slides describe the ideas for using GLP-1 agonists for type 1 patients, and our Disaster Averted looks at what happens when parents say, "It can’t be diabetes: we have no family history."  Our Mastery In Minutes video with Dr. Steven Blair will help you get your patients motivated for the new year ahead of them.
