Editor’s Note Complications and Frustrations

Nov 9, 2010

When I received this week’s Diabetes Clinical Mastery Series’ articles and contents from our staff, I’d just finished seeing patients. It had been a frustrating day: I had spent considerable time trying to explain why diabetes has so many complications to one patient; teaching another patient who had lost their insurance how to use a vial and syringe because they could not afford pens; and trying to convince a patient that it was time to intensify their insulin therapy for better control. I wish I’d read this week’s issue before I started my day because it seemed to be written just for me.
