Diabetes before 26th Week of Pregnancy Linked to Higher Risk for Autism

Children whose mothers were diagnosed with diabetes by the 26th week of pregnancy had a 42% increased risk of being diagnosed with autism, according to a study. Diabetes after 26 weeks of pregnancy and type 2 diabetes before conception were not associated with increased autism risk. JAMA April 14, 2015, Vol 313, No. 14
