Diabetes in Action

Corcoran, MD, conference chairperson and the Conference Committee
are pleased to announce the program and conference faculty for the 2003
conference. The theme of this year's conference is "Diabetes in
Action" to highlight the 18th year DESA has emphasized the importance
of physical activity and regular exercise for members, guests and health
care professionals in the management of diabetes and prevention of its
complications.
The
Gleacher Center, the site of this year's meeting, is a world class
conference center located on Chicago's
fabulous "Miracle Mile" Michigan Avenue shopping and entertainment
district- near Lake Shore Drive, Navy Pier and easy access to the world
famous Chicago Aquarium and museums. Conference participants will enjoy
the excitement of a great city and an outstanding program that assembles
leading professionals in the field of diabetes research, exercise, nutrition,
and diabetes equipment and supplies.
It is an excellent opportunity for the exchange of exercise health
information, sharing training strategies with leaders in the field and

The conference culminates in the 2003 DESA Athletic Achievement Award
presentation dinner on Saturday evening, sponsored for the 10th year
by LifeScan.
