Chandra Y. Osborn, PhD, MPH, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine, Center for Health Services Research, and Program on Effective Health Communication at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Osborn’s research focuses on improving care for racial/ethnic minorities with diabetes, and patients with limited health literacy. Her current work involves identifying modifiable determinants of medication adherence to anti-diabetic agents, leveraging personal health records and patient web portals to improve medication management, and understanding how and when “the digital divide” exacerbates racial/ethnic disparities in diabetes self-care behaviors and clinical outcomes.
