The Opportunity

We’re working hard to expand our business in new directions you’ll take part in developing. With guidance, you’ll use social media and creative campaigns to help attract and validate new subscribers.  You’ll improve website and mobile visitor engagement, retain subscribers with exciting new offerings, and grow and optimize search visits. And you’ll grow the bottom line through information marketing and affiliate marketing management.

The Marketing Project Manager is initially a contract role, working autonomously and from anywhere on the planet with an internet connection, reporting to the President.

What we’re looking for 

We seek candidates with a passion for marketing and entrepreneurship in medicine.  The ideal candidate will be an highly articulate written and oral communicator, self-motivated, organized, resourceful, persistent, self-responsible, able to manage projects and highly productive.

Qualified candidates will also have strong attention to detail and be able to bring order to a fast-paced job with changing demands, where ongoing reprioritization is key.

Key Accountabilities for the Marketing Project Manager are:

  1. Project Management – Manage and execute Diabetes in Control’s marketing projects including but not limited to social media, PR, affiliate marketing partnerships, product launches, website launches and re-design, information marketing, subscriber growth and retention, and business partnership development.
  2. Copywriting – Write marketing copy for Diabetes in Control’s social media campaigns, press releases, site, banner ads, communications with business partners and affiliates, key communications, and more, based on direct response and online web copy best practices.
  3. Social Media – Manage, expand and track Diabetes in Control’s presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Sermo, and more.  Responsible for executing and expanding our social media strategy and new initiatives. 
  4. Public Relations – Draft occasional press releases based on a core template.
  5. Measurement, Tracking, Comparison and Reporting – Track and create graphical and concise reports on the performance of our marketing initiatives, social networking efforts, site activity, and newsletter. Provide feedback and input to inform our strategy.
Qualifications include
  • 3-8 years of marketing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to write quality marketing copy and to effectively manage projects
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate and self-manage
  • A cool, level head, working well with others
  • The ability to present recommendations thoroughly and concisely
  • Professional media experience a strong plus
  • Social media experience a strong plus
  • A passion for the medical industry, especially the diabetes space, strongly preferred
  • BA/BS in business, communications, marketing, medicine or the humanities strongly preferred
