Diabetes Study Shows Importance of Controlling Blood Sugar Levels: A more thorough review of the ACCORD study discovers that newly diagnosed diabetes patients may benefit from aggressive control of their blood sugar, but the risks associated with pushing down blood sugar levels as close as possible to normal may be too high for those with more established disease, a large federally funded study has concluded.
