I have been traveling for the past two weeks to talk to pharmacists about the "Impact of Medication Therapy Management (MTM) on Hypertension Control and Adherence," and will have the opportunity to share this information with over 25 different groups by the end of September. Part of this presentation discusses the success of telephonic management of diabetes and hypertension by pharmacists and how MTM is spreading beyond Medicare to include Self-Insureds and Commercial Plans. This week we have an article from Clyde B. Schechter, M.D., at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine showing that Phone Intervention is also Cost-Effective for Glycemic Control.
