Letter from the Editor #607

Welcome back from the holiday season. This past week has been a real workout. Everyone who put health on the back burner last month seems to be showing up in our offices, wanting immediate service and quick fixes. In addition the "Resolution" patients are coming in looking for fast and easy ways to reach their goals. This means that we have a little extra opportunity to help our patients improve their health. With that in mind, Sheri Colberg, Ph.D. has an answer to a question many of your patients may be asking: Is Engaging in Intense Exercise for Less Time the Answer?

Since we are on the subject of diabetes and weight you may want to look at this week's Item #7 where Dr. George Bray from the Pennington Biomedical Research Center discusses Obesity: It's ALL About Calories. He talks about how calories have a big effect on weight and, more importantly, whether your patient's weight gain is fat or muscle.

NEW CME available! 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits are now available from CardioCareLive. See our CME page for all of CardioCareLive's enduring CME available.

Please answer this week's poll: Which new drug's approval are you most looking forward to in 2012?

Vote in and then see results from previous polls here.

We can make a difference!

Check out this week's "Test Your Diabetes Knowledge" question!
