STEP-Wise™ Approach

STEP-Wise™ Approach

STEP-WiseFor patients with type 2 diabetes uncontrolled on basal insulin and up to 3 oral agents.

The STEP-Wise approach was developed from the results of a study. Throughout the study, the basal and bolus doses were titrated as needed according to patient self-monitored premeal and bedtime glucose levels. A1c was assessed after 12 weeks, and patients not at goal (less than 7%)added a second daily bolus injection, before their next largest meal. After another 12 weeks, patients still above goal added another injection, before their next largest meal. Follow this link to download the PDF for your patients.
