STEP-Wise™ Approach
 For patients with type 2 diabetes uncontrolled on basal insulin and up to 3 oral agents.
The STEP-Wise approach was developed from the results of a study. Throughout the study, the basal and bolus doses were titrated as needed according to patient self-monitored premeal and bedtime glucose levels. A1c was assessed after 12 weeks, and patients not at goal (less than 7%)added a second daily bolus injection, before their next largest meal.
